TIP 49: Explicitly summarize your idea worth spreading in your conclusion.

Karen Thompson Walker12 released her debut novel, The Age of Miracles, on the same day that she delivered her talk at TEDGlobal. The book, told from the perspective of a preteen girl, is a coming-of-age tale set against the backdrop of the end of the world. Thematically, it asks whether hope and love can prevail in the face of cataclysmic uncertainty. While her book tackled the fictional implications of ambiguity, her TED Talk addressed the practical considerations of assessing risk in order to make better decisions. Her idea worth spreading, outlined in Table 7.2, is “to see fear as a gift rather than a weakness so that we can see accurately into the future.”
